The vinyl is pressed as a opaque disc. - .. THE DESTROYERSIt's easy enough to trace the lineage of every one of the ten cuts on George Thorogood & the Destroyers' self-titled 1977 debut. Even the originals, of which there are only two, wear their influences on their sleeve, so there's not a minute of this album where the presence of Hound Dog Taylor, Elmore James, Bo Diddley, and John Lee Hooker loom large. Not one of those bluesmen ever played with much finesse, and Thorogood picked up that thread and ran with it, playing so hard the group seemed like a gang of primitives. No wonder they chose the name "the Destroyers," they ruined everything in their path. This brutal attack is one reason George Thorogood & the Destroyers feels distinctive, even when the lifted Elmore riffs, Bo Diddley beats, and wild, careening Houserocker rhythms are blatantly obvious as he hammers away at his guitar, Thorogood plays with personality, his enthusiasm for making noise readily apparent. No matter how hard the Destroyers ride "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer," this album isn't about groove and it's certainly not about virtuosity - it's about bashing out the blues at a punishing volume, and their lack of subtlety is why this 1977 debut still sounds powerful years after it's release.Reissue Rounder Records 2013This LP edition of "George Thorogood & Destroyers" brings the raw, unfiltered energy of George Thorogood & The Destroyers to classic vinyl format. Powered by gritty guitar riffs, hard-driving rhythms and a distinctive blues-rock attitude, this record captures the essence of American barroom rock: straightforward, loud, and full of swagger. The album is aimed at fans of electric blues, roots rock and classic rock who appreciate punchy slide guitar, rough vocals and a live-in-the-studio atmosphere that feels like a club show put straight onto wax. Pressed as an LP, the format highlights warm analog sound, with room for detailed instrumental nuances, thick bass lines and the kind of dynamic range that suits Thorogood's powerful playing and the band's tight interplay. George Thorogood & The Destroyers are known for revitalizing blues-rock with a high-octane edge, turning traditional blues standards and rock'n'roll motifs into crowd-pleasing anthems. Over the years, they have built a loyal following through relentless touring and energetic performances, becoming a staple on rock and blues stages worldwide. Their catalog is characterized by memorable guitar licks, driving shuffles and a no-nonsense rock sound that bridges the gap between classic blues roots and mainstream rock audiences. This LP stands as a strong representation of that signature style: direct, catchy and made for being played loud. The manufacturer Round focuses on classic LP releases and is associated with solid pressing quality and attention to sound fidelity. Their records are typically designed for listeners who value the tactile experience of vinyl--sturdy sleeves, carefully produced discs and an emphasis on an authentic listening experience.
