Description:Widely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Vega?s self-titled debut album was co-produced by Steve Addabbo and Lenny Kaye and achieved platinum status. "Marlene on the Wall" was a surprise hit in the U.K. and Rolling Stone included the record in their "100 Greatest Recordings of the 1980s." 'Close Up Volume 1: Love Songs' is the first in a series of records on which Vega reimagined songs from across her career as "The Close- Up Series". Volume One in the series treats us to songs about love, in intimate arrangements that let the songs speak for themselves. Pressed on 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl. -
