"You Give Love A Bad Name" on CD by G.G. Allin, released by AWAR, is a raw and uncompromising document of one of punk's most notorious figures. This release captures Allin's abrasive sound: lo-fi, aggressive punk with confrontational lyrics and a stripped-down band backing him. The focus lies on intensity rather than polish, appealing to listeners who seek the extreme, transgressive edge of underground music and an authentic snapshot of outsider culture. The CD format offers a stable, collectible way to own this material physically, making it interesting both for long-time followers and for curious newcomers exploring the more radical fringes of punk history. G.G. Allin was a highly controversial American punk performer whose work pushed provocation and self-destruction to the limit. Known for his chaotic live shows and confrontational stance against mainstream culture, he became a cult figure in underground music. While he never enjoyed commercial chart success, his notoriety, numerous underground recordings and the lasting debate around his persona made him one of the most infamous names in punk, still discussed decades after his death. The CD is issued by AWAR, a label that focuses on niche and underground releases. Rather than chasing mass-market trends, AWAR tends to highlight unconventional artists and hard-to-find recordings, preserving material that might otherwise remain inaccessible. With "You Give Love A Bad Name," AWAR offers collectors and genre specialists a dedicated, physical edition that keeps this polarizing chapter of punk history in circulation. | | | Producer: |
